Arrive in Phuentsholing, Bhutan’s welcoming southern gateway, and begin your cultural journey with a relaxed introduction to the country. After completing hotel check-in, take time to rest and settle into the calm atmosphere of the border town. The evening is free for a gentle walk, local exploration, or preparation for the journey toward Bhutan’s mountain valleys.

After breakfast, complete the travel formalities and drive from Phuentsholing to Thimphu through forested hills, river valleys and small settlements. Enjoy the changing landscapes as the road climbs into the mountains. On arrival, check into your hotel, relax, and enjoy an evening walk around Thimphu. Time permitting evening at your leisure time. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Spend the morning visiting Thimphu’s main landmarks, including Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, traditional craft areas and local markets. Later, drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass, known for its 108 chortens and mountain views. Continue through the warmer valley landscapes before arriving in Punakha for an overnight stay.

Spend the morning exploring Punakha, including the impressive Punakha Dzong, located between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Visit nearby cultural sites, traditional villages or Chimi Lhakhang, depending on time. Enjoy Punakha’s warm valley, fertile fields and riverside scenery before driving towards Paro via Dochula Pass and Thimphu. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax.

Spend the day visiting Paro’s main cultural and religious sites, including Rinpung Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang and selected heritage areas. Enjoy views of the peaceful valley, traditional architecture and surrounding mountains. Later, spend time exploring Paro town for local shopping, photography or a leisurely walk. Return to the hotel, relax and prepare for the next day’s Tiger’s Nest hike.

Dedicate the day to the hike to Paro Taktsang, known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most important spiritual landmarks. The trail passes through pine forests, prayer flags and mountain viewpoints before reaching the monastery perched high on the cliffside. After visiting the sacred site, descend at a comfortable pace and return to Paro for rest. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying your final night in the peaceful Paro Valley.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive from Paro to Phuentsholing through scenic mountain roads, forests and valleys. Upon arrival in Phuentsholing, complete the necessary departure formalities, bid farewell to your guide and driver, and continue to your onward destination.
